Will there be a mess?#
We use sealed drop sheets and HEPA filtration vacuums to control dust. The work area is cleaned before we leave.
Do you service my area?#
We cover all Canadian provinces and territories. Remote or ferry-access communities may include a travel surcharge.
What is a WETT inspection?#
WETT stands for Wood Energy Technology Transfer. A WETT inspection verifies that wood-burning appliances and venting meet Canadian codes and manufacturer requirements.
How long does a chimney cleaning take?#
Most appointments take 60–90 minutes for a standard fireplace and flue, including a safety check and written recommendations.
Does a gas fireplace need cleaning?#
Yes. We recommend annual service to clean the glass, inspect the vent, check logs, and verify CO and draft. Gas does not create creosote, but dust and debris affect performance.
Do you work in winter?#
Yes, weather permitting. For icy roofs, we may complete interior work and return for roof-level tasks when conditions are safe.
What if there is heavy creosote or glaze?#
We use mechanical and chemical methods approved in Canada to remove stage 2–3 creosote. Severe buildup may require multiple visits or flue relining.
How much does cleaning or a WETT inspection cost?#
Pricing varies by appliance, roof access, and location. Typical single-flue sweeps start around $189–$269. WETT inspections commonly range from $199–$349.
Are your technicians certified and insured?#
Yes. Our team maintains WETT certifications and liability coverage. Proof of insurance is available upon request.
Do you provide photos and reports?#
Yes. After service, we share annotated photos and notes, including any compliance items or safety recommendations.
Do you install chimney caps and animal screens?#
Yes. We supply stainless or powder-coated caps sized to your flue, with spark arrestors and bird/rodent screening.
Do pellet stoves need maintenance?#
Absolutely. Ash, fly-ash and vent dust accumulate. We service blowers, clean exhaust passages and verify draft for safe operation.
